The idea behind my work as a cinematographer.

Make visible what, without you, might perhaps never have been seen.
– Robert Bresson –

I consider my work as a gradually and constantly generating approach and attitude towards the subject in focus, the protagonists and the characters. The narrative impact of the story is essential to me. Thus I believe that it is of utmost importance to give the directors, protagonists and actors sufficient freedom and space for their individual sense of creativity. Being open, ready for changes, flexible and courageous – all those aspects path the way for an extraordinary visual experience and visually intense expressive language.
Both my work on documentaries and feature films had a mutually inspiring effect on my work. Visually pre- designed sceneries and improvisation let emerge unique epic moments. To capture these moments has fascinated and motivated me from the beginning.
